The Lower Wye Group (one of six Groups in Greater Gwent, Wales) is ideally situated as a centre for walking with its "patch" enjoying The Usk Valley, Wye Valley, Forest of Dean, Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons and with the Cotswolds, the Mendip and Quantock Hills but a short distance over the Severn Bridge to the south. There is the type of terrain to suit every taste. The Group walks mainly on Sundays with a few Saturdays and some weekdays; evening walks run from May to August.

This Charity is an independant voluntary organiation which provides information and other services to walkers and seeks to promote and protect Offa's Dyke and the Offa's Dyke Path. It manages the Offa's Dyke Centre at Knighton and encourages archaelogical and historical research relating to Offa's Dyke and the corridor along its length. Courses for schools and adult groups are run at the Centre.
