Details about the activities of a Choir founded by the Welsh settlers in Blackstone in 1886, and nurtured by Lewis Thomas from Tal y Bont near Aberythwyth -- Thomas was 'the Coal King' of Ipswich. The Blackstone-Ipswich Cambrian Choir still sings in Welsh as well as English, and in five other languages as well. We are a mixed choir currently numbering 18 singers which specialises in Early Music and the Baroque. We are led by Andrew Wilson-Dickson and rehearse in Cardiff on Tuesdays in the 6 weeks before a concert. We do about 2/3 concerts per year. Potential members should be experienced choral singers and be good sight readers.
